Reality Is A Creation of Our Conscious Mind, According to Quantum Physics

“Understand yourself and you will understand the whole world.” – Socrates

The vast richness of existence is something we owe entirely to our ability to perceive it. The experience of living as an entity with elevated, conscious processing is not something to be taken for granted.

It is with this in mind that we regard consciousness with reverence and awe, for a better understanding of our mind and its engagement with reality lends itself great power to how we live our lives. Existing spiritual beliefs, coupled with modern scientific research requires we approach the topic of consciousness with breadth, for consciousness is quantum, it is unified and it is powerful.

Consciousness, as an experience, is a more abstract and subjective one and is thus open to interpretation and change. Consciousness also has different levels of accessibility, depending on the observer. Modern theoretical physicist Michio Kaku defines consciousness as existing on three levels: spatial, understanding towards others and futuristic.

He states, “consciousness is the process of creating multiple feedback loops to create a model of yourself in space with regards to others in time, in order to obtain certain goals.”

So first, consciousness on a spatial level must give the observer a feeling of where they exist in a certain place. For humans that might mean our balance, sight, sound, hearing and other faculties that give us sensory information of where we exist.

The second level of consciousness means taking that information and using it to understand our surroundings and other beings. This exists for humans, animals, and plants. For example, a plant has understanding towards others because it can take in information about its surroundings and adapt accordingly, like knowing what direction the sun is to turn its leaves closer for optimal photosynthesis.

Likewise, animals can use the sensory information they gain from their surroundings to know if they are being preyed on and react accordingly. Humans are no different.

Lastly, the third and highest level of consciousness means utilizing the sensory information we gain and imagining, or pondering how things will change for us as time goes on. In other words, using conscious cognition to reach of point of introspection with the help of a highly developed pre-frontal cortex.

Herein, consciousness is an integration of sensory information, memories, and emotions, as well as electrochemical signals being sent to and from the brain. Higher order consciousness is an orchestra of past, present and future moments, and its instruments are the feedback loops of sensory information we take in.

Does the definition of cognition end at its utility for humans to survive, engage and study the real world? Increase scientific research says no. Human consciousness is also being shown to affect the outside world. In other words, not only is really happening to us, we are happening to reality. With the power of our minds, scientific experiments are favoring the idea that our minds influence and create the reality we participate in.

Quantum Consciousness

In terms of explaining the role of consciousness and its ability to create reality, a general understanding of physics is advised. It is generally agreed that physics can be divided into two categories: classical and quantum.

Classical physics includes all of the rules that govern large bodies. Think of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, the Laws of Thermodynamics, acceleration, velocity, or even simpler, the physics behind a car crash, or the rate at which something falls from a second story window. All of the laws that govern what humans can see with their own two eyes; this roughly defines the field of classical physics.

Quantum physics, on the other hand, is a different ball game. Quantum physics pertains to the behavior and laws of atomic and subatomic particles, like electrons and quarks. The reason why quantum physics is its own subset of study is that classical physics laws usually do not apply. Put simply, the behavior of these particles can be hard to comprehend, because their behavior is impossible on a classical scale. Some of the weird behaviors of these particles are addressed below.

The Double Slit Experiment

The Double Slit Experiment is perhaps the most popular evidence for consciousness creating reality. In the experiment, a gun that shoots quantum electrons is placed in front of a screen with two small vertical slits.  Behind this screen exists an additional observing screen.

The reason why this experiment is so phenomenal is that when the electron gun shoots electrons through the first double slit screen, the electrons usually act not like particles, as we would expect with a classical physics background, but as waves. Meaning the electrons that hit the observing screen do so in many bands over the observing screen, not just through the opening of the two slits. However, the behavior of the electrons changes when observed by human consciousness!

When the double slit experiment is performed and observed by a conscious human mind, a phenomenon happens that has been coined, “collapsing the wave function”, whereby the act of observing the electrons changes their behavior, from one of energetic wave potentiality to concrete particle behavior.

This means that atomic particles are orienting themselves into a concrete form and place only when the human consciousness is deliberately looking at them. Which mean that human consciousness could be considered the edge between classical and quantum physics. What goes on in these energetic particles when we aren’t looking? Who knows!

The Emoto Experiments

The late Masaru Emoto was a researcher who did extensive experiments on water molecules and their relationship to human consciousness. He showed the infinite structural potential of water molecules and showed that water molecules have memory.

The Emoto Rice Experiment goes as follows: Two cups of rice in water are placed in two separate containers. One container has “Love” written on it, the other “Hate”. Over a one month period, each day these cups are spoken either words of love or words of hate.

What can this mean for human consciousness? This can mean that our energetic intentions, thoughts, and feelings have a dramatic impact on our surroundings. It truly means rethinking our both thoughts on health and disease and the power of what energetic information we share with others in our environment.

To think, everything in our universe is composed of the same quantum material – atoms whose inner pieces move at approximately the speed of light, who are composed of merely .00001% matter and 99.99999% energy. That is something truly deserving of more research.

Consciousness Transcends

The energy we are all comprised of is the same. Every conceivable thing that has come before and everything that will come after us in this universe shares the same finite material. Although each of us is unique, carrying an identity and ego denser than our purer, higher forms, do not let this uniqueness equate to separateness. We are all connected, our divine consciousness a bridge between material science and spirituality.

Understand the power that lies within, and that the multi-dimensional experience of consciousness is best driven by an active, thoughtful participant. Life can happen to you, but you too can and do happen to live.

The interdisciplinary study of metaphysics and the role consciousness plays in quantum physics will grow leaps and bounds in years to come. What we know now by proven science is small in comparison to what we feel within our hearts. Remember that no matter who you are, where you are going or what you believe, wherever you go, there you are…and you are always creating and influencing along the way.
