6 Mysterious Artifacts That Show the Technological Advances of the Ancient Civilization

Generally speaking, it is a well-known fact that the roots of the development of the science and technology lie in the Age of Enlightenment. However, archeologists have found many artifacts, which challenge the common believes as well as the formerly established facts.

The discovery of the artifacts was in the excavated places that are regarded to be the cradles of the ancient civilization. Additionally, their examination has shown that the old civilizations were scientifically advanced societies and marked technological progress.

Historians refer to them as ‘Oopart’ artifacts or ‘out of place’ artifacts because they show that the ancient civilizations had knowledge of astronomy and geography.  Taking this into regard, many people the facts presented in this article will mesmerize many people. Hence, here is a list of the most notable ones:

1. Piri Reis Map

The theologian Deissmann discovered this map in one Turkish library. It dates back to the middle ages of the Great Ottoman Empire. The naval officer and cartographer Hadji Ahmed Muhiddin Piri created this map. The illustration of the Antarctica, before being under the ice is quite inquisitive.

Professor Hapgood while studying the map found that the creator used the ‘mercatorial’ projection. This was rather shocking finding due to the fact that this type of projection was only known to be firstly invented and implied in the 16th century.

Also, the longitude and latitudes are depicted with precision, which is extremely extraordinarily because such measurements remained unknown until the creation of the chronometer.

2. Antikythera

Greeks are considered to be the creators of the Antikythera or commonly known as Ancient Computer. What is interesting about this device is that it provides punctual astronomical calculation.

The archeologist Valerios Stais found it in an old wrecked ship near the coastline of the Antikythera Island in Greece. The researcher Buttet points out that its mechanism possessing specific features is different from the modern mechanisms.

3. Crystal Skulls

Mitchell- Hedges discovered two crystal skulls within the excavation in Belize, which in the ancient time was a place where Mayan lived.

When compared to a human skull, they bear almost identical features. Marks of implementation of certain tools for their creation could not be traced, even if they are observed under a microscope.

4. Egyptian Light Bulb

It is a crypt, depicting an object in a form of a light bulb. Researchers found  It underneath the Hathor Temple in Egypt.

Crypt shows a Lotus(flower), which looks like a socket. The stem of the flower is like a cable and passes under the bulb. A line in a form of snake inside the bulb is moving toward the end of the so-called ‘socket’.

Von Daniken’s research on this matter showed that the created modeling figure of the lamb emitted light.

This is amazing because it challenges the belief that electricity was an invention of the modern era. How the bulb received power still remains an unanswered question, triggering lots of disputable and controversial beliefs and hypothesis.

5. Alien Disk

The professor Gutierrez discover a crypt in form of a disk, in Columbia. It has 2 kg weight and size of 27 cm. If closely observed under a microscope, it provides some incredible information in terms of the human biology.

Researchers think that this disc belonged to a civilization, which remains unknown to them. Estimation about its age of existence shows that it is old around 6,000 years.

6. Seismoscope – Earthquake detector

Zhang Heng from the Han Dynasty was the man, who invented this device. In fact, he created it in 132 A.D. The way this device worked is still a  shadowy secret. However,  some replica samples of it indicate precision.

The known fact is that in 138 A.D this device correctly detected an earthquake, happening in a place, which was at 300 miles distance, west of the city Luoyang.
